After collection from your hotel we commence the morning with a private tasting of Grand Cru wine at a Chateau at the foot of the Hill of Corton in Aloxe Corton. We then visit a charming family estate in the renowned village of Gevrey-Chambertin, home to 9 Grand Cru vineyards. Visiting the cellars, we will met the wine grower or his wife personally and experience a horizontal tasting of Grand Cru wine, whilst overlooking the vines to discover the meaning of ‘terroir’.
Lunch may be taken at a traditional winemaking estate matching a typical Burgundy meal with 5 Corton Grand Crus wines of the owner. Alternatively, we may stay in Gevrey Chambertin for lunch with a domaine that offers a range of options, including a rare opportunity to taste Grand cru wines from their domaine in the Alsace as well.
After lunch relax as we take a drive along the Route des Grands Crus and stop to admire the sites of the legendary wines of Burgundy: Romanée Conti, La Tâche, Richebourg, Grands-Echezeaux, Chambertin.
Our third wine tasting of the day will find us in the Cote de Beaune where we will enjoy some of the prestigious Montrachet offerings in the former home of Jacques-Marie Duvault-Blochet, founder of the DRC vineyards.
