Historic Dijon with Burgundy Bubbles

After collection from your hotel we head to Dijon, capital of Burgundy and historic seat of the Valois Dukes of Burgundy. It is one of the best preserved medieval sites to be found in the middle of a modern vibrant city and we will discover it together. Following the ‘Chemin de Chouette’, mascot of the city, we step back to medieval times and discover the hidden courtyards of the great ‘hôtels particuliers’ constructed between the 15th and 18th century. The magnificent ‘Palais des Ducs’ will be the pinnacle of the tour.

Hopefully Dijon market will also open on the day of your tour so we can take in the sights sounds and smells of a traditional French life then lunch is taken according to your suggestion.

After lunch you can indulge in some free time for shopping or enjoy an independent visit of the Museum of Fine Arts, the best fine arts museum outside Paris.

On the way back to Beaune we will visit Veuve Ambal for an initiation into the fabrication of Cremant (Burgundy Champagne). The tour ends with a comparative tasting of this local nectar, a worthy competitor to Champagne.
